In its 2011 catalogue, Guerciotti officially presents a new range of bicycles: Guerciotti for Unico 1.
Unico 1 is a trademark created by Diego Murari, a young 43 year old man, to whom doctors diagnosed an incurable disease in 2006, giving him only a few months to live. Instead, today he is still here fighting valiantly. After having shared his thoughts with some sport-loving friends, the idea to create a foundation materialized and it was established under the name of “Fondazione Unico 1 - Onlus”, the main objective of which is to help all those who, after having been affected by serious illnesses like Diego, are fighting every day to survive and who, because of the high costs involved, cannot afford to pay for the cures which would give them a future. Beside donations, the activities of the foundation are financed by the proceeds deriving from the promotion of the Unico 1 trademark which, among other activities, will be used for a new line of sportswear and gadgets. Many personalities in the sport world have embraced Diego’s cause: Francesco Toldo, Kristian Ghedina, Roberto Baggio, Silvio Fauner, Michele Scarponi, Gilberto Simoni, Francesco Ginanni; beside many italian serie A football teams. Guerciotti has fully embraced this project by creating its own line of merchandising and casual wear under the trademark Unico 1 and also by presenting today a new range of bicycles who has been created for all the uses: road racing, single speed and trekking.
